Thanks for reading! I use a tripartite definition in a coming essay where meta is beyond, with, and after and defines a specific type of relationship with masculinity. I borrowed it from Jonathan Rowson in his definition of metamodernism.
I teach biomechanical metastability as an adaptive response to the metacrisis using the postural system of the body. Metastability is a general principle in physics and complexity theory and is discussed by Scott Kelso in terms of cognition as the source of a phase shift in the oscillations of the brain. The prefix meta is tremendously interesting and on point right now in terms of our understanding of an organic and bottom up approach to complex living systems. In Greek it means within and between but also above and beyond and was often used to indicate prosociality or community. These different nuances make it especially meaningful in the current philosophical context and large scale paradigm shift.
Do you know what the prefix meta implies? It is a fascinating Greek word.

I also have a tripartite definition ;)
